Rebekah Abel

Rebekah is the project coordinator who manages all operational aspects of the project. She has a degree in Speech and Hearing from the University of Iowa and has been at Northwestern University since 2006. When not busy with work related to the project, Rebekah plays the French Horn.

Salvador Aguinaga

Sal is an electrical engineer on the project and is the leader is software and hardware development. When not at work, Sal is busy with his new daughter Isabella. Sal also enjoys competitive biking and sailing.

Chun Liang Chan

Chun is a software engineer on the project. This website and the data management system are his creation. He has a graduate degree in Music Technology from Northwestern University and is often found playing the bass guitar or the drums with his band.

Sumitrajit Dhar, Ph.D.

Sumit is an applied hearing scientist who is also clinically trained in Audiology. He is on the faculty of the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University and is one of the investigators on this project. Sumit used to play the Tabla when he had some spare time.

Evan Grolley, B.S.

Evan is a doctoral student in the Au.D. program at Northwestern University. He is one of highly skilled research assistants that may evaluate your hearing if you were to participate in the HARP project.

Vickie Hellyer

Vickie is in charge of public relations and is responsible for the challenging task of recruiting participants for the study. She is an accomplished musician who gives voice lessons and directs several choirs in the Chicagoland area.

Mead Killion, Ph.D.

Mead is the founder of Etymotic Research and is a consultant on the project. He has advanced degrees in Mathematics and Audiology and has been a pioneer in transducer design.

Jonathan Siegel, Ph.D.

Jon is a neurobiologist with a long-standing interest in auditory physiology. He is on the faculty of the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University and is one of the investigators on this project. Jon is also a bass with the Chicago Choral Artists.

Coryn Weissinger

Coryn is a doctoral student in the Au.D. program at Northwestern University. She is one of highly skilled research assistants that may evaluate your hearing if you were to participate in the HARP project.

Darrin Worthington, Au.D.

Darrin is an alum of the lab and Northwestern's Au.D. program. Darrin is a licensed audiologist at one of the VA Hospitals in Chicago and helps out with the HARP project as time permits.

Kelly Waldvogel

Kelly is a doctoral student in the Au.D. program at Northwestern University. She is one of highly skilled research assistants that may evaluate your hearing if you were to participate in the HARP project.

Wei Zhao

Wei is a doctoral student in the Ph.D. program at Northwestern University. He is one of highly skilled research assistants that may evaluate your hearing if you were to participate in the HARP project.

Steven Zecker, Ph.D.

Although Steve's primary scientific interest is in learning and learning disorders, he also is an accomplished biostatistician. He is on the faculty of the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University and is one of the investigators on this project. Steve played a pivotal role in the design of this study and plays a lead role in data analysis and interpretation.

Renee Banakis, Au.D.

Renee is an audiologist by training. Her role includes evaluation of participants, quality control, as well as preliminary data analyses. When not working in the lab, Renee can stun you with a precise cross from the wing or cutting in and scoring with a killer shot on the soccer field.

Lauren Hardies

Lauren is a doctoral student in the Au.D. program at Northwestern University. She is one of highly skilled research assistants that may evaluate your hearing if you were to participate in the HARP project. Lauren has been involved in evaluating hearing of participants at the Special Olympics.
